Dedicated to the ones we love!
Cancer is something which runs in everybody's family. We all know someone - a relative, a friend, a neighbor - who has been affected by cancer. Children as well as adults have heard the dreaded words, "You have cancer." It isn't just those afflicted with the disease who suffer; friends and relatives of those with cancer suffer as well.
Please support me in the fight against cancer as I rappel off the Sheraton in Downtown Denver on August 28, 2010 for Cancer League of Colorado. My goal is to raise $2,500, which will generate $50,000 in research towards finding effective treatments for cancer because each dollar donated generates an additional $20 in research. By sponsoring, you will help those affected by cancer have more birthdays, more anniversaries, more holidays. By sponsoring, you will help your child, sibling, parent, friend or neighbor prevent this terrible disease; and you will help those afflicted find effective cancer treatments.
Most of you know my Mom died of cancer when I was just 16 years old, and that loss still reverberates in my life today. This effort is personal for that reason. This is a challenge for me because I really dislike heights. But if jumping off a building can help prevent another child from feeling the huge emptiness of losing a parent at such a young age, then I will do just that. Please help me help find ways to prevent cancer, and ways to help those who get it. Every little bit helps.
Cancer League of Colorado is a locally based non-profit which operates solely with a volunteer staff. CLC was one of the original research supporters of Tamoxifil, a leading breast cancer treatment. Cancer League of Colorado also provides grants to assist low income people being treated for cancer, and supports local activities designed to support those dealing with this terrible disease.
Thank you very much for your support. Together we will make a difference!
Have a wonderful and blessed day.
