Hello friends and family,

Ever since my mom died from lung cancer 13 years ago, I have wanted to get involved in an organization that helps fight cancer and supports cancer research.   Though treatments have changed significantly since my mom was sick, I wish every day that a cure, or even better treatment options, had been available to her.  I am doing this in memory of my amazing mom, her courage and her grace, and in memory of my sweet and wonderful father-in-law who also had lung cancer.  I am also doing this in honor of my aunt who is currently battling breast cancer, and one of my best and dearest friends, an almost-sister, who is a cancer survivor.

In order to help raise money for the Cancer League of Colorado, I will  be rappelling down a 32 story building in downtown Denver on August 28.  The Cancer League is an non-profit that raises money for cancer research and cancer care in Colorado.  It has no paid staff, no offices, and almost no overhead...so 100% of donations go straight to the fight against cancer...and those donations are further matched by federal government research grants. 

I invite you to join me in supporting cancer research, in any way you can, no matter how small.  I am very excited to take on this personal challenge of rappelling a skyscraper, and am even more excited that the money I raise in order to be able to rappel, will help people with cancer.
